Government plans to build a landfill in Kerata, a region in the southestern Attica, are met with strong resistance from the residents. So strong, in fact, that clashes with the police are a daily occurence in the once peaceful small town.

While the government considers the Keratea landfill absolutely necessary in order for the pressing Attica rubbish disposal problem to be aleviated, Athens News went to the region to hear the residents’ side of the story.
